Project Status

With development approval received in January 2024, Elgin is looking to progress a collocated renewable energy scheme at a site at 4823 Great Western Highway, Glanmire, NSW 2795. The scheme will supply 60MW of renewable solar energy and will include a 52MW battery energy storage system (BESS) that can store this energy and discharge when electricity demand is high.

This website has been created to provide information to the wider community. Elgin  is also in the process of preparing a program that aims to contribute value to the local area in Glanmire. As part of this, Elgin  is committed to keeping the community informed at each stage of the project from planning through to construction.

The Independent Planning Commission (IPC) of NSW granted consent to the development application for the solar farm, associated infrastructure and battery storage in late January 2024. All documentation on this case is available on their web portal. An important milestone was also reached in June 2024 when the 5.3.4a letter was received. The project now continues to work towards financial close.
